Specs at a Glance

Available with eight seats, the 2024 Ford Expedition XLT and Limited provide an upscale experience for families. As the more expensive trim, the Limited offers a larger infotainment display and instrument cluster. Let's compare these two excellent trims.

Performance

The 2024 Expedition harnesses up to 380 horsepower from a 3.5-liter engine block. Hailing from the renowned EcoBoost platform, the standard V-6 powerhouse dishes out 470 pound-feet of peak torque. You could select a high-output powerplant for the 2024 Expedition Limited. This boosted powerhouse delivers up to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are synced with an automatic transmission system that yields 10-gear speeds. These full-size Ford SUVs have lots of other superb mechanical equipment, like a 4x4 drive system with Traction Control and Hill Descent Control. A non-limited-slip rear axle with a 3.31 ratio is standard on both models. Upgrades are available to a 3.73 ratio for the rear driveline for even better handling. A two-speed transfer case further elevates performance on these eight-seat Ford models. Powered by Control Trac, the 4WD system includes the eLSD for maximum traction on unpaved trails or slippery pavement. These huge Ford vehicles are also built on a fully boxed frame with superb durability.

Appearance

The 2024 Expedition XLT rolls on 18-inch, machine-faced aluminum wheels that are decorated with Magnetic pockets. This trim and the Limited are available with 20-inch alloy wheels, which are enhanced with Dark Carbonized Gray pockets. Both Ford SUVs offer 20-inch wheels with a six-spoke layout. Sparkle Silver styling is available for the XLT's 20-inch wheels. You can get 22-inch wheels with black paint on the Limited version. This high-end model is furnished with leather seats in the front row. Such luxurious seats have power adjustments, heating, and ventilation. The synthetic ActiveX material is optional for the XLT's seats.

Features

Built on the SYNC 4 platform, a 12-inch touchscreen is standard on the 2024 Expedition XLT and Limited. Both three-row SUVs include an 8-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster. Powered by FordPass Connect, a powerful Wi-Fi modem is activated inside the cockpits of both vehicles. You could upgrade to a 15.5-inch LCD touchscreen on the Limited trim. A 12.4-inch instrument meter is also optional on this lavish Ford SUV. Both models offer a rear entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV streaming for a pair of headrest monitors.
