Ford Vehicle Service Warning Indicators
All modern vehicles have a series of indicator lights on their dashboard. They keep you aware of your car's maintenance needs and potential problems. We'll now explain ten important indicators you'll find on your dash. This info can heighten your on-road confidence and safety.

Airbag Fault
If you see this light, a problem exists with your airbags or somewhere else in your vehicle's secondary-restraint system, which includes your seat belts. To ensure proper airbag deployment, promptly seek service.

Low Fuel Level Warning Light
You'll see this light when you have one gallon or less remaining in your fuel tank. Stop for gas soon.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
When you see this light, your vehicle has low oil pressure. Immediately check your auto's oil level. Add oil if needed. If your oil level is sufficient, seek service to address the low pressure.

Service Vehicle Soon
This light is connected to your odometer. It comes on whenever you have driven the maximum number of miles the automaker recommends between oil changes and tire rotations. Seek all necessary maintenance for your current odometer reading. Your service tech will reset this light.

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
When you see this light, your air pressure is low in one or more tires. Check and adjust each tire's pressure according to the decal found on your driver's door jamb. If the TPMS light remains on after proper inflation, bring your vehicle in for service. Your sensors may require replacement.

Slip Indicator
When your tires lose traction, you'll see this light. Simultaneously, your vehicle's traction control or electronic stability control will activate. If the light remains on when you do not have traction problems, seek service.

Charging System Warning Light
When you see this light during a drive, you should stop immediately. Your fan belt may be broken, or you may have a different problem along your car's charging circuit. This light always indicates that prompt service is needed.

Brake System
This light indicates trouble within your braking system. You will not immediately lose the ability to brake, but seek service soon.

Open Door Warning Light
When you see this light, a door is open on your vehicle. Double-check your doors and trunk safely.

Coolant Level Warning
Never ignore this light. It warns you when your coolant is low. Address your coolant level to avoid overheating and potential harm to your engine. If the level looks good, you may need this system's sensor replaced.
