2025 Ford Transit XL vs 2025 Ford Transit XLT

There are endless ways to make good use of a Ford Transit Van, and thousands of people invent new ways every year. Businesses love them, large families love them, and the industry loves them. We sell the XL and XLT 2025 Ford Transit vans here and are always available to help people pick the proper trim.

Performance

There are two engines available for the XL and XLT trims: a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine or a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. These engines deliver either 275-horsepower or 310-horsepower performance. The XL van features 16-inch silver steel wheels with black hubcaps, while the XLT gets 16-inch steel wheels with full silver wheel covers.

Appearance

The Ford Transit is a striking van, but the XL and XLT have slight variations in appearance. For example, the XLT has a honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome surround, while the XL has a carbon black surround instead. This makes a big difference in the van's appearance. Running boards are optional on both trims. Only the XLT has chrome high-intensity HID headlamps. You can inspect the exteriors of the XL and XLT during your visit to our dealership.

Features

The XL's interior is beautifully done and includes vinyl front and rear floor covering, automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a standard AM/FM stereo with a 4" display that has Bluetooth built in. Dual USB ports provide more convenient ways to connect while on the go. The XLT adds even more, with a standard SYNC 4 system with a 12" display and connected navigation, front and rear floor carpeting, and a built-in Lane keeping system with blind spot information system. A medium center console is already a nice addition to the XL, but the XLT gets a large center console. If you demand a maximum number of driver-assist features for your vans, the XLT is a great choice. It includes standard features like Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage, which you won't find standard on the XL. Still, the XL allows customers to pick up add-ons when they feel it's necessary.
