A few months ago, Ford asked truck owners across the nation to concoct the toughest, most challenging tasks they could for the newly redesigned 2015 F-150. The automaker received over 15,000 responses, from which they selected four winners who recently got to put the truck through their own unique durability tests. One of those winners was Brian Schober, an Arizona resident who works as a test engineer in Yuma. On a day-to-day basis, he puts military vehicles through their paces to make sure they're ready for the battlefield.
So what challenge did he think up for the 2015 F-150?
When Schober got his hands on the truck, he decided to test it out on his own proving grounds - the 5.4-mile desert loop at his work facility in Yuma, where many military vehicles have met their demise. The course is difficult to say the least and the truck had to go around the track for 36 hours in hot desert heat.
