When Argentinean artist Raul Lemesoff went to work on a rather unique project, his friends didn’t know what in the world he was thinking up. They had hunches: a submarine, car or weapon of some kind. Little did they know that he was stripping down and building up a 1979 Ford Falcon to transport “Weapons of Mass Instruction.”

Raul turned the Ford into a tank that’s armored with… books. Lots and lots of them. About 900 to be exact. And he drives around giving them away for free to kids and adults, though his primary target is the youth of Argentina. Poetry, politics, novels and more, Raul uses his Falcon tank to collect, distribute and transport books of all kinds around Buenos Aires, with a goal to arm people with the most dangerous weapon in society: knowledge.

The quirky artist came up with a creative way to get people excited about books, which he believes open the mind and inspire people to use their imaginations, and it’s cool to see that he uses an old Ford to accomplish his mission. Check out the video below to see how the library-on-wheels came together and watch Raul in action as he hands out books around the city.
