Thanks to contributions from APS, Cox Charities and the National Endowment for the Arts, general admission at the Heard Museum is free on Sundays throughout the month of July! If you’re looking for cool, air-conditioned places to visit this summer, the Heard is definitely a venue that you and your family will enjoy.

Don’t spend this Sunday at home running the AC all day, when you could check out wonderful Native American art, live dancers and more at the Heard for no cost! Aside from ongoing exhibitions that showcase Native American baskets, beadwork, jewelry, pottery, masks, fine art and more, there’s also other entertainment taking place on Sundays this month.

For example, on Sunday, July 19 Native Spirit Dancers will be performing at the museum and kids can color their own pair of dynamic cuffs. In addition, a demonstration will be held by artist Anthony Belvado, who will show visitors how he makes Apache burden baskets.

The following Sunday, July 26, Yellowbird Indian Dancers will be onsite and artist Lucille Maho will demonstrate how to create Hopi pottery. Kids’ activities will be available again, too. Bring your children along and they’ll get to create special protective emblems.

Current exhibits at the museum are free to view on Sundays in July, except for the special “Super Heroes: Art! Action! Adventure!” exhibit which costs only $5 to view. For full details about the Heard Museum’s Free Summer Sundays, visit the official event page.
