For owners of the C-MAX Energi, Focus Electric and Fusion Energi, a new update of the MyFord Mobile App has been released which adds support for iOS and Android smartwatches!

The new app update is available on the Apple Store and Google Play right now and it works seamlessly with Android Wear and Apple Watch timepieces.

Once you’ve downloaded the app, you can use your smartwatch to perform remote vehicle functions like unlocking doors and checking the charge status of your car battery, for example. You’ll also be able to manage a wide range of other tasks right from your wrist too, meaning you won’t have to reach for your smartphone so often.

Ford’s Smartwatch app features include:

• A vehicle locator that’ll give you walking or driving directions to your car - so you’ll never spend hours trying to find it in a parking lot again


• Lock and unlock doors remotely


• A driving score with details about your driving and braking efficiency, how many miles you drove on your last trip, and mpg or mpg-e used on your last trip


• Estimated driving range, which comes in handy before going on trips


• See your vehicle charge status at a glance, along with receiving notifications when charging is complete


• Cabin preconditioning (i.e., turning on the AC or heat) so you don’t have to wait for the car to warm up or cool down to a comfortable temperature


• Summary of vehicle mileage
