Setting Up Ford WiFi
First, make sure you park in a safe place before you try to do anything. Next, you should download the FordPass app and start-up SYNC Connect. There's also a complimentary data trial you can often use here too, which is free.
Startup your vehicle and connect to the Vehicle WiFi and Hotspot menu on the vehicle's screen. Using your SYNC display, go to settings. It's in the bottom right part of the screen. Scroll to one side a bit until you can find the “WiFi and “Hotspot” menu. Next, you choose the “Vehicle Hotspot” option, which is a tab.
In the Hotspot screen, you need to make sure that the hotspot is switched on. If it isn't, you need to switch it on. Next, go to settings and take a look at what it says next to the SSID option, which stands for Service Set Identifier. You'll need this name for connecting. You can also change this name and password to whatever you want in the Edit WiFi Hotspot Settings area. The “edit” option on this screen is on the bottom center.
It's also important to go to the WiFi Visibility setting and make sure it's switched to “on.” This will help to make sure that you can find your hotspot when you need it.
Connecting to Hotspot
Go to the “WiFi Menu” option in the Ford device. This should be under Settings. Next, go to the device you want to connect. Turn on the Wifi first. If you see WiFi networks already, then it's likely already on.
Once your Ford HotSpot's name comes up, select that. Next, you simply add the password. The name of the Ford hotspot should match what you saw in the SSID section before.
