In the past, 55 to 64 year olds were known for buying large homes and large SUVs to accompany them. However, recent sales data has revealed that they are beginning to opt for small homes and luxury compact SUVs.

"Trendy baby boomers want to downsize their homes and their vehicles, but they're not willing to give up premium content in either case," says Ford's Marketing Manager for the Global Car and Crossover Group, Amy Marentic.

The Ford Escape Titanium is a great example of a product that meets the new needs of modern baby boomers. It's the most technology packed trim in the Escape lineup and 46 percent of its owners are 56 or older. The SUV is also experiencing 24-percent growth, significantly higher than the segment's 18-percent growth rate, and this has largely been driven by shoppers between the ages of 55 to 64. Additionally, Phoenix happens to be one of four cities in the nation where Escape is over-indexing, which also lines up with the fact that many baby boomers move to the popular southwest city as they near retirement.

If you live in the Valley and are in the market for a small SUV, visit our Ford dealership in Phoenix to find out why the Escape Titanium is so popular! With amenities like heated front seats, a power liftgate, navigation, MyFord Touch and rear parking sensors, it's one of our most luxurious and technology-focused models.
