Mother Nature plays an interesting trick on drivers in New Brunswick, Canada, where there's a mysterious hill that makes cars appear to roll upward without any assistance when they're put in neutral. Local drivers and tourists have freaked out about it, and soon you'll see how the unique natural illusion works.

People call it Magnetic Hill, but there is no magnetic force in the area that draws cars uphill. In fact, though it may appear to the eye that vehicles are moving upward, they are actually moving downward. See the video below to watch one driver take on the hill, then the following video from mathematician Kokichi Sugihara of Meiji University to see how the optical illusion happens!

When Sugihara's model is turned around to the backside and it becomes more apparent that the balls are descending rather than ascending, you'll be astonished - no exaggerations. The fact that a similar type of surreal optical illusion exists in nature is pretty neat. It's a trick of the eye that's fooled people for a long time and now the mystery is solved. While Magnetic Hill's name is not exactly apt, the site remains a tourist attraction for those who want to see a real-life magic trick of sorts.
