Performance
Both of these trims offer the same satisfying level of performance. Under the hood sits a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. It pumps out a healthy 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, thus ensuring strong acceleration. An eight-speed automatic transmission aids the Edge's responsive nature. Standard all-wheel drive also promotes excellent traction.
Appearance
Despite being the lineup's entry-level trim, the Edge SE has an attractive exterior styling that is bound to catch your eye. Bi-LED headlights and 18-inch Sparkle Silver aluminum wheels come standard. Plenty of appealing exterior colors are available for SE trim, including Atlas Blue Metallic and Forged Green Metallic. You'll notice a few key differences when checking out the SEL trim. Dark bezel headlamps add a sporty touch. Ford also equips the Edge SEL with a different set of 18-inch split-spoke wheels.
Features
An impressive list of standard equipment makes the SE trim a strong value. Ford's user-friendly SYNC 4 infotainment system is a definite highlight. It features a standard 12.0-inch touchscreen, which is among the largest in the class. Popular creature comforts, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, also come standard. Other key features include a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, keyless entry with push-button start, and Ford Co-Pilot360 safety technologies.
Additional luxuries are found on the SEL trim. ActiveX seating material and a leather-wrapped steering wheel give its interior a more upscale feel. Heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and rear parking sensors also come equipped on the Edge SEL.
