What's New For the 2020 Ford Edge?

The 2020 Ford Edge is one of the many new Ford vehicles to debut for the year and the latest to come from the Edge model line. As another entry into Ford's resume, the all-new Edge brings in some newer equipment such as dual-zone automatic climate control, extra luggage space, but does remove the CD player as an entertainment option.

Available Features in the 2020 Edge

The 2020 Edge comes with several trims, each with its unique features. The Ford Edge has four available trims: the SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST. The SE trim is the base and comes with standard features like 18-inch wheels, reclining rear seats and a six-speaker sound system.

The SEL trim is a step up and contains not only the same features as the SE but also a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated seats, and adaptive cruise control as optional choices. The Titanium trim adds in some luxury-light touches, leather upholstery, and front sport seats. The ST is the final trim available and just has improved steering and leather and suede decorations for the interior.

How Much Power does the Ford Edge Have?

2020 Ford EdgeThe 2020 Ford Edge is a sturdy vehicle and has an engine that can deliver when needed. The Ford Edge runs on a gas engine that has a 245 horsepower rating and can put out 275 feet per pound of torque. It carries an 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, center slipping differential, and inline-four cylinders pumping. It runs primarily on premium unleaded fuel and can hold well over eighteen gallons at one time.

2020 Brings a Wide Selection of Safety Tech

2020 Ford EdgeThe Ford Edge has a plethora of different safety features and measures to ensure both the comfort and security of all of the occupants. A special safety feature included here is an enhanced active parking assist, which actively steers the car so that it can accurately pull into and pull out of parallel parking spots or just backing in. A blind-spot warning and lane departure warning system are also in place to keep the driver alert for objects in the blind spots and when changing lanes in the middle of traffic.

Rear door safety locks for children are, of course, included here and are backed up with child seat anchors to keep the younger passengers as safe as possible at all times. There is also a pre-collision and post-collision safety system in place, both to alert drivers of possible collisions and to keep them aware of car damage after a collision has occurred. Lastly, there is improved stability and traction, combined with rear ventilated disc brakes, to extend the brake life as much as needed.
