Ford's New Battery Energy Storage Business
It's going to be a busy year for new Ford Energy president Lisa Drake. Her duties will involve everything from battery cell manufacturing to sales, and everything in between. John Lawler, Ford Energy's vice chair, says that "Lisa has a deep expertise in scaling complex industrial systems and securing critical supply chains. Her leadership is essential as we stand up Ford Energy to capture the growing demand for reliable battery energy storage that supports grid stability and resilience for utilities and large energy users."
Lisa Drake's background makes her uniquely suited to succeed in this new position. She was vice president of Technology Platform Programs and EV Systems and has an extensive background in purchasing and industrialization. Now, she plans to use that expertise to make Ford Energy an even bigger player in the game. "We're building a business focused first on utility-scale battery energy storage systems for large customers while also offering battery cells for residential energy storage solutions."
